Event Overview
In her first workshop with IARTA, in June of 2024, Dr.DeYoung explained how to understand and work differently with three different faces of chronic shame,Dysregulated, Deficit, and Dissociated.
Here, after speaking of the general challenge of shame in therapy relationships, she will address the special challenge each “face” presents, exploring possible sequences of enactment and understanding in these somewhat predictable processes of shame-haunted therapy.
The key to understanding is always the therapist’s deep engagement in these processes – which will almost always include the therapist’s inevitable entanglements in, and disentanglements from, transference/countertransference shame. This workshop aims to help therapists realize that there’s no shame in this co-transference shame, but that there can be lots of learning
This webinar will focus on the psychotherapy field, although other fields may find the discussion of interest.
£50 members/£100.00 non-members.
