Event Overview
Erotic forces are ever present in the therapeutic and supervisory space, yet they are so often unspoken, avoided or misunderstood.
Drawing on my chapter “The Disturbance and Comfort of Forbidden Conversations (sexuality and Erotic Forces in Relational Psychotherapy supervision)” in “Working with Sexual Attraction in Psychotherapy Practice and Supervision” (eds van Rijn and Lukac-Greenwood) we will explore…
How we might recognize the presence of sexuality and the erotic as supervisors and how we might use that recognition in our supervisory work.
Using a relational feminist two person philosophy and ethical principles as a safe enough container we will deepen our understanding of the dilemmas presented in the supervisory encounter when the forces of sexuality and the erotic are present.
We will use two clinical concepts “The Transgressive Edge” and the “ Liminal Space” as useful means to address and potentially resolve supervisory dilemmas for example power dynamics ,desire, risk, and shame when they are present yet unspoken in the supervisory relationship.
This webinar will focus on the psychotherapy field, although other fields may find the discussion of interest. £24.00 members/£48.00 non-members.
A recording of the event will be made which you can purchase by signing onto the event, but please note, we are only able to issue CPD certificates for those who attend the actual workshop. Please note that in some cases the recording may be edited to ensure confidentiality.
